A-Frame Barricades are suitable for various traffic restriction applications, to help keep pedestrians and workers safe. Individual components are durable yet easy to replace in the event of damage. All lightweight pieces are stackable for easy storage, transportation, and assembly convenience.

Barricades are available with two different A-Frame leg styles. Economy legs have multiple slots and can be set up as either Type I or Type II barricades. Sand fillable legs are Type I only, with a blow-molded compartment for ballast stability. Both leg types accept barrier rails of 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 foot lengths. Install either impact resistant i-beam or economy plastic rails, as well as nominal lumber. Our economy and i-beam rails are compatible with other barrier systems to create Type III barricades.

Rails come in various lengths with a choice of three reflective striping grades, on one or both sides. Barrier legs also have a mount hole for fitting optional flashing lights. These features help ensure high visibility in all weather conditions and times of the day. These modular traffic safety products are ideal for quickly setting up crowd control or access limits. Use our barricades to restrict or divert foot and vehicle traffic. They help to warn of construction work zone hazards, including sidewalk or road closures.

Lightweight - easy to handle and store

All barricade components weigh less than 12lbs each, which makes them very easy to move and assemble. Work crews can quickly set up and pack away barrier components as necessary. No sharp edges or splinters ensures worry-free handling, even without gloves.

The economy plastic rails lay flat while i-beam boards easily nest together for convenient storing and transportation. Both frame leg styles feature built-in stacking lugs to ensure slip-free storage.

Durable construction

These barrier system components are built to withstand tough conditions in a range of environments. Our economy a-frame legs are made of durable injection molded plastic. The sand fillable legs have a rigid, blow-molded polyethylene construction.

Economy rail panels have a rigid plastic composition. The i-beam rails are made of impact resistant polyethylene for greater durability and flexibility. Unlike metal and wood, they won't dent or splinter. The innovative i-beam board design helps protect its reflective sheeting from scratches and other surface damage. This makes them a great option for construction work zones or locations using heavy equipment.

Economy A-frame barricade leg

Our more affordable leg model is approximately 40" tall and 28" wide. They are made of sturdy injection-molded plastic with built-in lugs for slip-free stacking.

The design includes a mounting hole at the top that can accommodate one standard or "D" cell barricade light. Each leg weighs approximately 7lbs which makes them very easy for one worker to set up or break down. Sold individually, with a minimum of 3 legs per order.

Four board openings offer excellent versatility to let you deploy this unit as either a Type 1 or Type 2 traffic barricade. Narrow and wide slots will hold both the economy plastic panel or 1” x 8” or 2” x 8” nominal lumber rails. This style frame is a cost effective option for setting up traditional road and city street Type 1 barricades. Deploy a Type 2 barricade on high speed roadways like freeways.

Ballasting A-Frame barricade

The sand-fillable legs stand approximately 44" high and 30" wide. They are made of rigid, impact resistant polyethylene that is blow-molded. Both strong and durable, this material helps minimize damage. It also stands up well to repeat rigorous outdoor use.

Frames have two board openings to erect Type 1 barriers only. One designated slot shape will snuggly fit an i-beam board. The other opening accepts varying lengths of 1” x 8” or 2” x 8”nominal lumber, or, an economy plastic rail. A built-in mounting hole at the top of the frame accommodates either standard or D-cell barricade lights.

The ballasting compartment panel at the bottom of the frame holds up to 15lbs of sand. That makes this frame ideal for stabilizing traffic barricades in windy conditions without messy sand bags.

Sold individually (with a minimum order of two units), each lightweight leg is only 7lbs when empty. Built-in stacking lugs ensure non-slip storage and transportation.

Reflective sheeting and striping options

Our economy and i-beam rails may be sheeted on none, one, or both sides. The rails' reflective area is approximately 8 inches wide. The two-side option features one left and one right facing striping side. Single side sheeting comes standard with right-facing stripes - contact us to ask about custom orders for left facing stripes only.

What is the difference between the three sheet styles?

Our two rail panels come with your choice of Engineer Grade, High Intensity Prismatic, or Diamond Grade reflective sheets. The three grades define the level of retroreflective performance. This means its ability to reflect light back, and increase driver visibility at night or in dark conditions. Retroreflectivity degrades over time, depending on the sheeting material you choose:

• Engineer Grade (EG) is the most basic sheeting, returning the least amount of light. It generally lasts approximately 5 years.
• High Intensity Prismatic (HI) is the middle performer and returns approximately 32% of light back to its source. Visibility is from 800 to 1,200 feet away. Expect about a 10 year lifespan.
• Diamond Grade (DG) returns the most amount of light, with about 60% retroreflectivity. Its visibility is between 1,300 and 1,600 feet away. This material lasts for around 12 years.

The United States Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) specify different retroreflectivity performance level standards. Check with Federal and State Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) to determine your traffic sign or traffic control equipment requirements.

Barricade LED warning lights & accessories

Add an optional static or flashing light to your A-Frame Barricade to help increase visibility in low vision or night conditions. We offer two models that connect to the light mounting receptacle on both style legs. LED lights come packaged (10) per carton, include a wrench for mounting, and are available in Half Moon or Pyramid head bolt:

Model 400 PC - The heavy duty case available in yellow (stocked), orange or white. This unit comes with a 3-way “Off-Flash-Steady” switch and standard mounting hardware. It uses (2) 6V spring batteries and a photo cell. The lens is made of UV stabilized poly-carbonate with high-impact polypropylene housing materials.

Y2K - This slim and lightweight LED light operates on (4) D-Cell batteries and includes standard mounting hardware. Its battery saving 3V photocell design lasts 4 to 5 times longer than traditional 6V lantern style lights. A 3-way switch makes it easy to go from flashing, to steady burn mode, to off, with the push of a button.

We also offer replacement Sand Compartment Covers for the ballasting leg units. This twist lock cover keeps sand inside the fillable compartment.

The Rail-Clip for i-Beam boards enables you to mount traffic signs to your barricade, such as warning messaging about road closures or speed bumps.
