These Acid Spill Neutralizer Sock and Pillow absorbers feature dual solidifier and color change agents. They make an ideal addition to battery acid or neutralizing spill kits and are a superior alternative to baking soda or sodium hydroxide.

Unlike granular powder neutralizers, you do not require any additional equipment (like a dust pan or brush) for spill clean up. Simply toss into action, then pick up socks and pillows once acids are neutralized. Dispose of all soiled hazardous waste materials in accordance with state/federal regulations.
Multi-purpose pillows and socks are a great grab-and-go option for fast spill response. Stage them in any potential spill hazard area such as research labs, chemical processing facilities, as well as acid storage areas.

Strong and effective materials

The outer skin of these pillows and socks is made of tough, spun-laced fabric to increase their lifespan. This white shell material features a quilt surface for greater strength. It has good chemical resistance yet also ensures even distribution of neutralizing filler agents inside.

Inside each sock and pillow is a purple base neutralizer and indicating filler of sodium carbonate. The filler acts as an effective and non-hazardous absorbent compound. One case of eight socks or pillows absorbs up to 7 gallons.

Socks and pillows quickly wick away acids, leaving surfaces or equipment dry and within safe pH range.

Versatile and efficient

The flexible nature of our socks means they create an effective containment barrier when set around acid spills. Along with pillows, they easily compress into tight spaces to quickly absorb large or small spills. Place them in hard to reach areas under equipment or tight corners.

Use them as an alternative to hazmat pads to absorb large spills that may occur in locations handling and storing acids. Wedge pillows or socks under or around charging racks to catch and absorb battery acid (sulfuric acid) drips. Pillows also offer economical protection for drip pans: use 12 pillows to cover and preserve a 36" x 48" pan and replace saturated pillows as necessary.

Lightweight and portable, these products are suitable for treating a variety of acids including sulfuric, nitric, phosphoric, and more. They are not for use on hydrofluoric acids or HF compounds.

Color change indicator for safer handling

Our socks and pillows contain an absorber/solidifier filler with neutralizer and visual pH indicator. The color change process safely advises neutralization status without the need for additional pH paper testing.

The purple filler changes to dark gold on contact with strong acids. Yellow/orange indicates a mild acid. Once acid neutralization is complete, the socks and pillows return to purple so you know they are safe to handle and dispose of.

It is not necessary to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when deploying these socks and pillows under normal conditions. However, goggles, gloves and other safety equipment must be worn during any spill clean up operation. Excellent spill kit supplement

These no-mess socks and pillows make a great refill supplement to our standard battery acid spill kit.
