The 5-caster "bogie" design offers superior stability compared to traditional 4-caster dollies, especially when transporting heavy drums. The fifth center caster prevents tipping and provides smooth directional changes. Two lockable casters keep the unit stationary during dispensing or storage operations. The 12-gallon sump maintains secondary containment during drum transport — a key requirement for facilities where drums are moved between stations. EPA 40 CFR 264.175 requires secondary containment even during drum handling operations, and this cart helps maintain compliance while in motion. The 1,250 lb capacity provides adequate margin for most 55-gallon drum contents. For heavier materials (acids, solvents), verify the drum weight does not exceed the rating. The polyethylene construction resists oils, fuels, and mild chemicals but is not fluorinated — for aggressive chemicals, consider alternative containment options.
