Our Type 3 Traffic Barricade Systems come in two styles that are quick and easy to deploy. Pre-drilled mounting holes on parts allow for fast assembly in work zones. Use for short or long term placement at road construction sites and more. In the event of damage, easily replace individual barricade pieces to extend service life.

Complete traffic barricade kits have lightweight yet strong components. Uprights are either heavy duty plastic or metal, with pre-drilled rail mounting holes. Feet styles include affordable angle iron, or, recycled rubber with steel plates.

Attach rigid plastic barricade rails in five sizes, from 4 to 12 feet long. Rail panels have three choices of retroreflective sheeting grades. They are also compatible with our Type I A-frame and Folding Barricades.

Large Type III barricades offer better stability and visibility in comparison to Type I and Type II barricades. That makes them ideal for improving vehicle and road crew safety around construction zones. Fit optional flashing lights to increase visibility in low light or night conditions. These kits are NCHRP-350 accepted and meet MUTCD standards.

Type III barricade kits & replaceable parts

The economy barricades have rolled steel uprights and feet to inhibit warping and corrosion. This low-cost system is easy for one person to assemble and take down in minutes. Simply lift and slot uprights into the feet units' square receiver brackets. Pre-drilled holes accept impact resistant rail panels between 4 and 12 feet long.

Rubber and steel base barricade models are available with pre-drilled 72inch high square uprights in metal or plastic. Quick-release lock pins attach uprights to bases for fast onsite removal and assembly in construction areas. At 40lbs each, base pieces offer good stability and do not require additional sandbag ballasting. Corner lugs allow the bases to nest together and stack away for storage and transportation when not in use.

Both barricade systems are available as complete kits as well as separate parts. Durable materials withstand harsh weather conditions, and resist chips, cracks or breaks. The uprights accommodate two barricade lights to meet NCHRP-350 approval and MUTCD standards.

Reflective sheeting styles

All plastic barricade rails come in three reflective grades and may be sheeted on none, one, or both sides. The three grades offer differing retroreflective performance, which describes their ability to reflect light back. Retroreflectivity degrades over time depending on the sheeting material:

• Engineer Grade (EG) - returns a basic amount of light back to its source with a 5 year lifespan
• High Intensity (HI) - returns around 32% of light, is visible from 800 to 1,200 feet away, with a 10 year lifespan.
• Diamond Grade (DG) - returns around 60% of light, is visible from 1,300 to 1,600 feet away, with a 12 year lifespan.

Note: Double-sided rails have one left-facing stripe side, and right on the other. Please contact us about custom orders for left facing stripes only.

These plastic rails are also compatible with our Type I barricade systems: A-Frame Barricades.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) specify standards for traffic sign and traffic control equipment. Check with Federal and State Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) to determine your work zone requirements.

Versatile safety barricade uses

These barricade traffic safety products have a wide range of uses. Typically, the 3-rail barrier design designates road closures. But they can also be set up for other traffic safety purposes. For example, to alert road hazard warnings, in construction areas, and a parking sign mount.
